Our customer, a leading fiber infrastructure provider, is seeking a skilled FTTH Network Technician to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of fiber-to-the-home networks. This is a field-based, hands-on role responsible for ensuring network stability, resolving outages, and supporting residential customer connectivity., * Perform daily maintenance and support of FTTH networks, including aerial and underground fiber infrastructure
- Respond to network outages and customer-impacting issues, including after-hours support
- Dispatch to field locations to isolate faults, troubleshoot, and complete repairs
- Handle trouble tickets related to fiber connectivity, modems, routers, terminals, and drop connections
- Install, test, and commission fiber network equipment
- Utilize OTDR and other tools to diagnose and resolve network issues
- Perform fiber splicing and support restoration activities
- Support scheduled maintenance activities (onsite or on-call)
- Work directly with residential customers, maintaining professionalism and service quality
- Interpret network diagrams, as-builts, and construction documentation
- Inspect construction work to ensure quality and safety standards
- Collaborate with internal teams and third-party partners to restore and maintain service
- Support data center and network electronics troubleshooting as needed
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain compliance with field operations standards
- All other duties as assigned., * Field-based role supporting the Greater Minneapolis area
- Must be within ~30-45 minutes of assigned coverage area
- On-call rotation approximately every 4 weeks
- After-hours support required for outages and maintenance
- Typical after-hours volume: ~2-4 callouts per month
- Some scheduled maintenance performed remotely while on-call
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Telecommunications network troubleshooting?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * Hands-on FTTH field experience (not limited to network operations or engineering roles)
- Strong experience with OTDR (required)
- Fiber splicing experience
- Experience working with terminals, drops, and customer premise equipment
- Knowledge of underground and aerial fiber configurations
- Experience troubleshooting modems, routers, and fiber network devices
- Ability to read and interpret network diagrams and construction documents
- Strong understanding of OSP (Outside Plant) construction methods and materials
- Comfortable performing customer-facing residential service calls
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass a driving record background check
- Ability to lift up to 50-75 lbs. and perform physical field work, * ISP experience
- Experience with tools such as MS Office, QGIS, and Google Earth
- Experience supporting data center or network electronics environments
