Job description
The selected candidate will be embedded in the GN&C department and program integrated product teams, providing Systems Engineering support for the Guidance, Navigation, and Control Subsystem, to ensure sound engineering procedures and products; including, but not limited to, requirements, interfaces, architecture, and mechanical/electrical design integration.
- Candidate will report to the GN&C Power and Distribution Lead and is responsible for building system engineering artifacts needed for Power and Distribution System First Flight Design Review, Critical Design Review, Functional Configuration Audit, and System Qualification/Verification Review
- The role entails coordination with higher level system engineers and design engineering to produce the needed documentation and set baseline system documentation in Cameo and DOORs and push artifacts through engineering approval and configuration management
- Additional opportunities allow for communication with the customer and subcontractors to align requirements to the contract constraints and subcontracts to requirements
Requirements
This requisition may be filled at either the Systems Engineer level (T-02) or Principal Systems Engineer level (T-03).
Required for Both Levels:
- Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
- Must have a current or ability to obtain and maintain a Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
Systems Engineer (T02 Level):
- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 0 years of experience with Master's degree
- 2+ years of experience with one or more of the following: requirements management/analysis/allocations including the use of DOORS or equivalent; Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBE/MBSE) practices, languages and/or tools such as Cameo, Rhapsody or MagicDRAW; interface development experience; architecture development experience; Verification including verification method determination, RVAM development
Principal Systems Engineer (T03 Level):
- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience with bachelor's degree, 3 years of experience with master's degree, 1 year experience with a PhD
- 4+ years of experience with one or more of the following: requirements management/analysis/allocations including the use of DOORS or equivalent; Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBE/MBSE) practices, languages and/or tools such as Cameo, Rhapsody or MagicDRAW; interface development experience; architecture development experience; Verification including verification method determination, RVAM development, * Experience with batteries and electronics
- Experience with mechanical design and modeling
- Experience in Printed Circuit Board design
- Experience with reviewing thermal models of electronic assemblies, batteries, and structures
- Experience with reviewing structural analyses
- Experience working with suppliers/subcontractors including reviewing SOWs and other contractual documents
- Strong experience reviewing specifications, requirements, and interface documents
- Active DoD Top Secret Clearance or ability to obtain
- Active SAP Clearance or ability to obtain
- Understanding of the Systems Engineering V-Model
- Experience with aerospace development
- Experience with systems product development
- Experience modeling with Cameo Enterprise Architecture, MagicDraw (No Magic, Inc.) or other architecture modeling tools
- Experience in documenting Interface Control Documents, Interface Requirement Specifications, and Interface Description Documents
- Experience in DoD development environment
- Experience with ICBM weapon system sustainment engineering and integration
- Experience with complex system development on large programs

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
