Job description

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Data Center Security Installation Technician in East Point, GA. The Data Center Security Installation Technician is responsible for the physical deployment and cabling of security hardware within a mission-critical facility. The ideal candidate focuses on the precise installation of access control systems, surveillance cameras, and intrusion detection devices to support robust site security infrastructure., * Install, mount, and secure security hardware including IP cameras, card readers, door contacts, and motion sensors.

  • Pull, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling such as Cat6, fiber, and multi-conductor wires required for security system connectivity.
  • Mount and wire security control panels, power supplies, and equipment enclosures in designated telecommunications rooms.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and technical schematics to ensure accurate device placement and wiring.
  • Perform basic hardware troubleshooting to resolve connectivity or power issues during the installation process.
  • Label all cabling, devices, and panels according to project-specific documentation and site standards.
  • Coordinate with project leads to ensure all installations meet quality control requirements and project timelines.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, ensuring all materials and tools are properly stored and debris is removed.
  • Document installation progress and report any site-specific challenges or material shortages to management.
  • Adhere to strict data center safety protocols and security requirements while working in sensitive areas.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Troubleshooting electrical systems?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * High School Diploma or GED equivalency required.

  • 1-3 years of experience in the installation of commercial security systems or structured cabling.
  • Proficiency with common hand and power tools used in low-voltage electrical work.
  • Direct experience terminating RJ45, coax, and basic security wiring connections.
  • Ability to read and follow construction drawings, wiring diagrams, and device schedules.
  • Previous experience working in a data center or industrial construction environment is preferred.
  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to follow complex verbal and written instructions.
  • Knowledge of security hardware components from manufacturers such as Axis, Lenel, or Genetec is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry tools and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights for extended periods.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and maneuver through overhead cable pathways.
  • Excellent manual dexterity for handling small components and wiring.
  • Must be able to distinguish color-coded wiring and read small print on labels and devices.

Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
