Job description

As a Computer Operator this position will be responsible for monitoring the activities of a large-scale data center. His or her responsibilities will range from performing first response to system failures/problems to investigating and resolving operational issues across a variety of computing environments including online and batch applications.

This position is a part time role and may include off shift hours, weekends, and holidays.

  • Shift: 1pm to 9pm
  • Weekend Hours are 7am to 5pm

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Take predetermined corrective action to restore service for HFHS clients.
  • Restart jobs, restore files, recreate reports, and resolve system issues.
  • Process third party remittance files via Web or Intranet connections
  • Monitor work schedules to help ensure timely completion of batch jobs.
  • Process visitors to the Data Center to safeguard the integrity of data/equipment.
  • Review and install modifications to the environment following established Change Management standards and practices.
  • Configure Microsoft Print Server queues for HFHS clients.
  • Configure LRS® Output Management for Epic EMR software.
  • Triage all printing issues and take corrective action or refer as needed.
  • Review Internet bandwidth usage for compliance to HFHS policies and standards
  • Create formal recommendations for process improvements.
  • Writes, maintains, and publishes operational documentation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays when required.
  • Associates Degree (IT related field) preferred.
  • Three plus (3+) years of IT experience preferred.
  • Microsoft Print Server experience preferred.
  • LRS Enterprise Output Server experience preferred.
  • ITIL certifications preferred.
  • LRS/Microsoft Print Server Software preferred.
  • WCC (AutoSys) Software preferred.
  • IBM JCL, Utilities and supporting third party software preferred.
  • UNIX and Windows commands and Utilities preferred.
