Job description
- Support the definition, development, and maintenance of processes, tools, environments, and technologies within the department, with a focus on scripting, automation, CI/CD pipelines, and software metrics collection
- Contribute to ongoing and new software development projects for Satellite Control Software and Instrument Control Software
- Design and (further) develop software components
- Develop and execute software unit tests, integration tests, and validation tests
- Perform software verification activities (e.g. static software analysis)
- Automate recurring development tasks and improve transparency on software quality and performance through metrics
- Create and maintain documentation for the above activities
Requirements
- Enrolled student in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable field
- Initial experience in software engineering
- Knowledge of software engineering methods such as requirements engineering, software design, software development in C/C++, unit testing, software validation, software configuration management, and scripting
- Familiarity with agile software development practices
- High level of motivation, enthusiasm, and ability to work independently
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Very good English language skills, both written and spoken
- Good written and spoken German skills are an advantage
