Job description
- Lead and contribute to the design and development of new products.
- Modify and improve existing products to meet performance, cost, or quality requirements.
- Produce and manage 3D CAD models, drawings, and supporting documentation.
- Work closely with manufacturing, quality, and project teams to bring designs through to production.
- Apply engineering analysis tools such as CFD and FEA to optimise designs.
- Stay up to date with innovations including IoT integration where relevant.
- Support and manage projects, ensuring deadlines and objectives are met.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Project management?, As part of a collaborative design team, you'll play a key role in turning ideas into real-world products. This position is roughly 75% new product development and 25% existing product modifications, giving you the chance to drive innovation while applying your problem-solving skills to current product lines.
Most projects involve plastic injection moulding, with some exposure to metal components. You'll be designing products for use in plumbing and utilities, so experience with water flow, pressure systems, or fluid dynamics will be particularly valuable. In addition, the role involves working on both short and long-term manufacturing projects, so having experience in project management is highly desirable., * Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar design engineering role.
- Strong 3D CAD skills and the ability to take projects from concept to production.
- Proven problem solver with an analytical approach.
- Experience in plastic injection moulding is highly advantageous.
- Additional experience in water flow, pressure systems, fluid dynamics, CFD, FEA or IoT would be a real plus.
- Exposure to project management is desirable, with the ability to manage both short and long-term projects effectively.
