Job description

Are you a technical data professional who enjoys bridging the gap between raw engineering and actionable insights?

We are looking for a Data Team Specialist to join a global leader in events, promotions, and marketing campaigns. This is a pivotal role positioned between our Data Analysts and Data Engineers. Your mission will be to focus on data structure development, technical documentation, and SQL optimization-ensuring our data is secure, structured, and ready to drive high-impact marketing results.

What You'll Be Doing

As the "connective tissue" of our data department, you will play a vital role in enabling our analysts to deliver insights more effectively.

  • SQL Mastery: Develop and maintain complex SQL queries, functions, and views to support reporting and analytical requirements.
  • Database Design: Assist in designing and maintaining database schemas, ensuring efficient data flow and integrity.
  • Documentation & Governance: Act as the custodian of our data processes, maintaining structured documentation, naming conventions, and version control for SQL scripts.
  • ETL Support: Monitor and test ETL/ELT pipelines to ensure timely and accurate data delivery.
  • Technical Enablement: Translate complex business requirements into technical specifications and provide SQL best-practice guidance to the wider analyst team.
  • Security & Compliance: Assist in maintaining data security (GDPR, ISO), ensuring controlled access to all data assets.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Scripting?, We are looking for someone who is highly organized, analytical, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

  • Experience: Proven background in a Data Engineer, Database Analyst, or DBA role.
  • Technical Skills: High proficiency in writing and debugging complex SQL queries is essential. Experience with Python for scripting/automation is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of relational database design, normalization, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Systems: Familiarity with MySQL integration, ETL tools, and APIs.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to interpret technical information into clear business terms.
