Job description
Working for the Estimating Team, this position provides high-end sales and technical support for the Outside Sales team for pumping systems and water/wastewater equipment in both the Municipal and Industrial markets. This support includes working with the project managers, aftermarket, outside sales and field service technicians., Application Engineer / Estimator:
- Provide pump and controls selection, configuration, estimation, and proposal generation.
- Direct quotations to customer of equipment packages and budget estimates on spec-and-bid projects.
- Estimate pump station retrofits including labor, materials, and associated equipment.
- Provide technical research, application, and costing on non-standard equipment or items.
- Develop internal and external sales training, if required.
- Maintenance of engineering data, forms, and procedures.
- Back up & assist project managers and aftermarket sales team as required
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Research?, * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering degree strongly preferred.
APPLICATION ENGINEER WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Five to twenty years of relevant work experience is preferred.
- Be familiar with the selection and application of different types of centrifugal and positive displacement style pumping equipment for the municipal and industrial markets.
- Be familiar with motor selection for the different types of pumps
- Be familiar with controls, starters and/or VFD equipment as required to control pumping equipment.
APPLICATION ENGINEER LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Certified Solidworks Associate (CSWA) is a plus
- PE certification is a plus
APPLICATION ENGINEER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must be highly motivated and a self-starter.
- Able to carry out a series of work instructions without constant supervision.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize.
- Be able to communicate with multiple departments which include sales, office management, accounting, and warehouse.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
- Knowledge of automation systems including instrumentation, PLC's, HMI's, and SCADA applications is a plus.
- Knowledge and use of 3D design software (Solid Edge, Solid Works, Revit) is a plus.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma and/or Green Belt certification is a plus., * application engineering: 2 years (Preferred)
