Job description

The People and Culture Business Unit is seeking a talented and experienced professional to join our team as a People and Culture Senior Systems Analyst. The successful individual needs to have demonstrated experience in project management, system design, development, and implementation/improvement of system solutions in the human resources field. The work requires advanced knowledge of human resource management practices, theories, and techniques and of organizational structure, functions and procedures. This position will report to the People and Culture Systems and Analytics Manager., * Project lead over HR systems, development and implementation projects involving considerable scope, complexity and long term commitments;

  • Lead system user groups in the design, development, implementation, and modification of systems.
  • Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of management controls, channels of communication, operating procedures, organization and flow of work;
  • Devise efficient methods of accomplishing work and recommend solutions to resolve problems.
  • Collaborate with utility team members to ensure data and functional integrity across projects. Will personally interact with departmental personnel, consultants, other City departmental personnel and management to explain technical recommendations.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement solutions for reporting systems, dashboards, and performance metrics to support leadership/management business decisions.
  • Serve as main system administrator to People and Culture business unit systems and provide troubleshooting assistance to internal customers including, but not limited to, being the point of contact with Seattle IT/vendor.
  • Document and train users on system usage and best practice on system operations.
  • Performs other duties of a comparable level/type as required.

Requirements

Do you have experience in System design for system development?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, In addition to the skills and experience mentioned below, a successful applicant will have experience that reflects a commitment to creating fair and equitable outcomes and has:

Requires three years of experience in systems, operations, procedures, research or analysis and a Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, finance, computer science or a related field (or a combination of education, training or experience that provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class)., * Strong analytical, detail-oriented, and communication skills, as well as the ability to implement recommended data prep solutions and reporting that enable the business unit to quickly derive business value from initiatives;

  • Extensive work experience working with varied HR databases (i.e. Workday) and related software and process automation;
  • Advanced proficiency working with Microsoft Apps (Excel, SharePoint, Power Apps and Access) and/or reporting systems (Tableau, Power BI);
  • Self-motivated team player with proven ability to be flexible and adaptable to a changing environment;
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities with very little direction;
  • Strong analytical skills, critical thinking and excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to foresee potential obstacles and proactively identify solutions and resolve issues;
  • Demonstrated experience communicating with individuals at all levels of the organization;
  • Demonstrated experience handling confidential and sensitive information;
  • Ability to foster and model effective customer service;
  • Demonstrated experience working independently and using good judgment;
  • Ability to meet deadlines without compromising accuracy, excellent product quality and attention to detail; and,
  • Possess a positive, service-oriented attitude with strong time management and organizational skills with exceptional follow-through to maintain workload.
