Administer and support multiple database environments, ensuring strong performance, uptime, data protection, and access control across Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle systems.

Install, configure, patch, and upgrade database platforms on both physical and virtual servers while maintaining operational stability.

Monitor database health and tune systems to improve efficiency, resource utilization, and response times.

Partner with project teams, application support groups, and developers to deliver database-related solutions and technical guidance.

Lead or assist with database migration and upgrade initiatives, including planning, execution, validation, and post-implementation support.

Troubleshoot database and server issues across Windows, UNIX, and Linux environments to minimize service disruptions.

Create and maintain clear operational documentation, standards, and procedures for database administration activities.
Requirements
Description We are looking for a Database Administrator to join our team in San Antonio, Texas in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This role focuses on maintaining reliable, secure, and high-performing database environments across Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle platforms while supporting project delivery and day-to-day operational needs. The ideal candidate brings strong experience with database administration, system optimization, and technical collaboration in complex infrastructure environments., * Provide knowledge transfer and training to technical teams and end users when database processes or tools require user support. Requirements * Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in database administration or a closely related technical discipline.

College-level coursework toward a degree in computer science, data processing, or a comparable combination of education and relevant experience; a bachelor's degree is preferred.

Demonstrated experience administering Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle database environments in production settings.

Proven background in database installation, configuration, troubleshooting, upgrading, and migration activities.

Working knowledge of Azure SQL Database, MySQL, Microsoft SQL technologies, and database performance tuning practices.

Experience supporting database systems on Windows, UNIX, and Linux platforms.

Ability to document procedures clearly and communicate technical guidance effectively to both IT staff and business users.
