Implement solutions (building data pipelines, data modeling, infrastructure as code, etc.) that leverage the cloud platform

Lead a small engineering team: set technical direction, review designs and code, and mentor engineers

Participate in architectural discussions to build confidence and ensure customer success when building new and migrating existing applications, software, and services to the cloud

Conduct deep-dive "hands-on" education/training sessions to transfer knowledge to internal teams and customers considering, or already using, the cloud
-
Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the cloud and hybrid-cloud community

Cloud environment configuration and performance tuning, including performance and cost optimization of compute, storage, and data warehouse workloads

Implement data migration solutions from on premise to cloud - i.e. migrating to cloud data warehouses, managed databases, etc.

Build IP solutions that accelerate customer implementations and act as reusable components
Requirements
-
At least 3 years of proven experience in delivering cloud solutions on a major public cloud

Experience in networking, infrastructure, or database architecture, in addition to primary application expertise; cloud-based transformation solutions; design & implementation of distributed applications

At least 5 years of experience in working with software development tools and methodologies (Agile, Git, CI/CD)

At least 3 years of experience in a software/technology customer-facing or stakeholder-facing role

Cloud certification (associate or professional) from AWS, Azure, or GCP

Programming languages - Python, SQL, and one of Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Go
-
Hands-on with Infrastructure as Code and at least one container orchestration platform
-
Great communication, because this is a lead, customer- and/or stakeholder-facing role
-
Degree in a technical discipline, such as Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or Math

5+ years of total IT experience
Nice to Have

Experience across two or more clouds (multi-cloud or hybrid architectures) and a deep understanding of the differentiating factors between AWS, Azure, GCP, and others

Experience implementing big data and streaming solutions (e.g., Spark/EMR, Dataproc, Kinesis/Kafka, Pub/Sub, Firehose)
-
Able to make appropriate recommendations across the cloud stack, including
o Object storage and block storage (S3 / Blob / GCS, EBS / managed disks)
o Virtual machine / compute instances and autoscaling
o Security, encryption, IAM, and governance frameworks

Experience implementing streaming and BI/visualization solutions (e.g., Kinesis, QuickSight, Power BI, Looker)

FinOps / cloud cost-governance practices
-
Exposure to GenAI/LLM integration in data and application platforms (RAG, vector stores, agentic workflows)

This is a Permanent position based out of Baltimore, MD.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $119600.00 - $179400.00/yr.
We reserve the right to pay above or below the posted wage based on factors unrelated to sex, race, or any other protected classification.
