Job description
The Amatriot Group is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer to support and maintain enterprise cloud environments supporting mission-critical applications. This role will focus on AWS infrastructure, Linux administration, cloud security, automation, monitoring, and compliance initiatives within a highly available production environment., * Deploy, maintain, and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure supporting production and development environments.

Administer and support Linux-based systems within AWS.

Implement and maintain cloud security controls, access management, encryption solutions, and system hardening practices.

Support compliance initiatives and security frameworks, including implementation and maintenance of controls aligned with NIST 800-53 requirements.

Assist with Authorization to Operate (ATO) efforts through continuous monitoring, auditing, and documentation activities.

Develop and maintain infrastructure automation and configuration management solutions.

Monitor system health, performance, and availability using centralized logging and monitoring tools.

Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure, operating system, networking, and security-related issues.

Collaborate with cybersecurity, engineering, and operations teams to support mission requirements and operational objectives.

Create and maintain technical documentation, system configurations, and standard operating procedures.
Requirements

Bachelors Degree with 3+ years of relevant experience or 7 years with no degree. Advanced certifications, specialized training, or equivalent hands-on experience may be considered in lieu of years of experience.

Active Top Secret security clearance is required, with willingness and ability to obtain a CI polygraph.

Experience with Linux administration and troubleshooting.

Experience working with AWS services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, AWS Config, and KMS.

Understanding of cloud security best practices, access control, encryption, and compliance requirements.

Working knowledge of networking concepts including routing, firewalls, VPNs, and cloud networking.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills., * Experience supporting NIST 800-53 security controls, RMF processes, or ATO activities.

Familiarity with continuous monitoring, centralized logging, and configuration management practices.

Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar technologies.

Scripting experience with Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages.

Familiarity with AWS security and compliance services.

Experience supporting highly available, large-scale AWS environments.

AWS certifications are a plus.
