Job description
This position is a salaried position under the direction and supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Technology. The Administrator will be responsible for the assigned activities of the Director In the general operation, repair, and procurement of technology equipment and infrastructure, as well as maximizing its use as a learning resource to support teaching and enhance student learning for all Education Technology Association districts. The physical location can be at one of these locations; Cadillac, Clare, Ludington, or Manistee., * Oversee daily system administration, including server hardware and software, and troubleshoot related technical problems
- Provide ongoing operational support, including operating system releases, upgrades, service pack installations, bug fixes, security updates, and any system change activities for servers, laptops, desktops, software, and other electronic equipment necessary for the operation of interactive telecommunications in voice, data, and video as needed
- Document all changes and additions to systems
- Maintain an inventory of computer system components and software, including all licenses, and ensure licenses are current
- Serve as a non-evaluative, in-person coach to assigned paraprofessionals
- Troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, via remote, or via email) in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user assistance where required
General Responsibilities
- Install and configure network equipment as assigned
- Install, configure, and maintain server's hardware and software
- Monitor and maintain server performance health and reliability
- Diagnose and resolve complex server hardware and software issues
- Monitor, detect, analyze, and respond to security threats and vulnerabilities to protect the organization's digital assets and information systems
- Read, comprehend, and follow telecommunication diagrams and schematics.
- Perform and document support methods and procedures that ensure the stability of all networking systems and services
- Ensure daily back-up of all systems, test back-up and disaster recovery procedures periodically
- Administer and maintain network user accounts for district, as assigned
- Maintain current knowledge with recent developments in server technology
- Serve as a consultant in the design, procurement, and installation of technology
- Conduct research and identify solutions and best price options
- Deliver technical support in a timely fashion
- Communicate clearly and completely with school staff regarding network status and issues
- Flexibility and multitasking are essential
- Be well organized and work effectively with specific timelines
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal and teamwork skills to ensure a cohesive and functional IT environment.
- Assist in the development of long-range planning for new media and technology projects
- Present a positive image of the districts and ISDs served by the ETA
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and commitment to the mission and vision of the WMISD
- Keep up to date professionally
- Other duties as may be assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a related field preferred, * Must have practical experience in technology management
- Must have practical experience supervising staff
- Must have 5 years' experience in technology and telecommunication operations and maintenance in school, business, industry, hospital, or governmental agency using Microsoft and Cisco Networks
- Must have demonstrated skills and knowledge of human relations
- Must have demonstrated math, written, and verbal communication skills, * Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds
- Must have a valid Michigan State Driver's License or State ID
- Must have own transportation to and from assignments
- Ability to pass Criminal History Check, Pre-employment Physical, and Drug Screen
