Job description

Imagine stepping onto the plant floor of a cutting-edge, on-demand autonomous vehicle revolution. This isn't your standard manufacturing maintenance gig-this is your opportunity to serve as the master integrator behind the scenes, bridging the gap between automation hardware, cloud-level software, and massive data pipelines.

As a consultant through COMRISE, you will directly influence the zero-to-one scaling of advanced production lines in the Silicon Valley. If you get a thrill out of coding an elegant Ignition screen, watching a complex database query execute flawlessly, and seeing a robotic line instantly react to your code in real time-all while banking a premier hourly rate-this is the contract you've been waiting for.

Your Impact & Daily Rhythm

You won't just be sitting behind a desk; you will be the go-to technical partner for process, software, and automation engineers across multiple Bay Area facilities.

  • The SCADA Architect: You will design, build, and maintain high-performance SCADA solutions utilizing the Inductive Automation Ignition platform, pushing the limits of both Vision and Perspective modules.
  • The System Unifier: You will bridge shop-floor hardware to enterprise data, connecting Ignition platforms to PLCs via Kepware OPC UA servers and feeding critical tracking data straight into SAP ME/MII systems.
  • The Line Hero: You will deliver high-signal, hands-on troubleshooting right where the action happens, developing custom Python or Java tools to boost line reliability, optimize uptime, and clear out technical bottlenecks.
  • The Web Integration Specialist: You will script complex database queries and configure web service calls to sync custom engineering tools seamlessly with plant infrastructure.

Requirements

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction., You are a self-motivated, collaborative systems engineer who loves high-stakes manufacturing environments and brings a customer-focused, team-first attitude to the floor., * Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related technical field.

  • Ignition Mastery: 5+ years of deep, hands-on experience building, launching, and scaling SCADA solutions with Inductive Automation Ignition, including absolute fluency in both Vision and Perspective modules.
  • Solid Programming Core: Strong software engineering skills using high-level languages (Python, Java, etc.) paired with the ability to write complex database queries.
  • The Plant Floor Edge: 5+ years of direct, in-person manufacturing plant floor support experience. You speak the language of automation and understand industrial system architectures.
  • Hardware & ERP Connectivity: Practical knowledge integrating systems with PLCs via Kepware/OPC UA and linking SCADA platforms with SAP ME/MII frameworks.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • A Master's degree in Engineering.
  • Direct experience inside a fast-paced automotive manufacturing production environment.
  • Deep mastery of industrial communication protocols and complex enterprise architectures.
