Job description

We are looking for a proactive and tech-savvy Restaurant Technology and Operations Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be the go-to person for managing and supporting the restaurant's technology systems and operational processes. Your expertise will ensure seamless integration of hardware, software, and network infrastructure to optimize restaurant performance, enhance guest experiences, and support daily operations. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, enjoys troubleshooting, and thrives in a dynamic environment where innovation meets service., We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Operations Technical Professional (OTP) to support restaurant technology, equipment systems, and operational excellence across a multi-unit McDonald's organization.

This role serves as the primary technical resource for restaurant management teams, ensuring that restaurant technology systems operate efficiently and effectively. The OTP will troubleshoot hardware and software issues, coordinate with vendors, support new technology rollouts, assist with restaurant openings and remodels, and help drive operational performance through technology solutions.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical abilities with excellent communication skills and a passion for supporting restaurant operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesRestaurant Technology Support

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to:
  • Point-of-Sale (POS) systems
  • Self-Order Kiosks
  • Digital Menu Boards
  • Drive-Thru Technology
  • Mobile Order & Pay systems
  • Delivery integration platforms
  • Restaurant Wi-Fi and network infrastructure
  • Timekeeping and labor management systems
  • Back-office systems and reporting tools

Equipment & Systems Management

  • Coordinate service and repairs with approved vendors.
  • Monitor technology uptime and system performance.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance planning.
  • Support installation and replacement of technology equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of technical equipment and assets.

Operations Support

  • Partner with restaurant management teams to identify opportunities for improved operational efficiency.
  • Support new restaurant openings, remodels, and major technology upgrades.
  • Assist with implementation of McDonald's technology initiatives.
  • Ensure restaurants comply with technology standards and security requirements.

Training & Development

  • Train managers and crew on technology systems and best practices.
  • Create simple reference guides and training materials.
  • Provide ongoing coaching to restaurant leadership teams.

Project Management

  • Lead and coordinate technology-related projects.
  • Work with suppliers, contractors, and McDonald's support teams.
  • Track project timelines and ensure successful completion., An OTP II is expected to:
  • Resolve most routine restaurant technology issues independently.
  • Support multiple restaurant locations.
  • Coordinate vendor repairs and installations.
  • Train restaurant management teams on technology systems.

Typical Experience: 2-5 years

OTP III Expectations

An OTP III is expected to:

  • Serve as the organization's primary technology expert.
  • Lead major technology deployments and restaurant projects.
  • Mentor and develop OTP II team members.
  • Recommend strategic technology improvements.
  • Manage technology budgets and vendor relationships.
  • Partner directly with ownership and senior leadership on technology strategy.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Equipment troubleshooting?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * High School Diploma or GED.

  • 2+ years of technical support, IT, restaurant technology, or related experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to travel between restaurant locations.

Preferred

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Experience supporting restaurant technology systems.
  • Experience with networking, routers, switches, and wireless systems.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Experience managing vendors and service providers.
