Job description
AGHA Medical is seeking an experienced and highly motivated IT Specialist with PACS experience to support our growing outpatient surgery center and physician practice. This position is responsible for managing the organization's information technology infrastructure, maintaining imaging systems, supporting clinical staff, ensuring data security, and providing exceptional technical support throughout the facility.
The ideal candidate has experience in healthcare IT environments, understands HIPAA compliance, and has hands-on experience with PACS administration, DICOM imaging, networking, cybersecurity, and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot PACS systems and DICOM connectivity.
- Support radiology and imaging workflows, ensuring timely transmission, storage, retrieval, and archiving of diagnostic images.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, servers, workstations, printers, scanners, and mobile devices.
- Provide technical support to physicians, nurses, technologists, and administrative staff.
- Configure and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, wireless access points, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Coordinate and troubleshoot interfaces between PACS, RIS, EMR, imaging modalities, and third-party vendors.
- Perform routine system maintenance, software upgrades, backups, and disaster recovery testing.
- Monitor cybersecurity systems and implement best practices to protect patient data and organizational assets.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and healthcare cybersecurity standards.
- Maintain inventory of IT equipment and software licenses.
- Coordinate with equipment manufacturers and outside vendors to resolve hardware and software issues.
- Develop and maintain IT documentation, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in technology planning, implementation of new systems, and workflow improvements.
- Provide after-hours or on-call support as needed for critical system issues.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Windows?, Do you have a Associate's degree?, * Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of IT experience in a healthcare setting.
- Minimum of 2 years of PACS administration or imaging informatics experience.
- Strong understanding of:
- PACS administration
- DICOM
- HL7 interfaces
- Radiology workflows
- Windows Server and desktop environments.
- Active Directory
- Network troubleshooting
- TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
- VPN technologies
- Experience supporting EMR/EHR systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work independently.
Preferred
- PACS Administrator Certification (CPAS or equivalent)
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+
- Microsoft certifications
- Experience supporting outpatient surgery centers or imaging centers
- Knowledge of cloud-based healthcare applications and virtualization technologies
- Experience with cybersecurity tools and endpoint protection
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to move computer equipment and peripherals.
- Ability to work in clinical and office environments.
