Job description
Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Data Center Tech 2s in Fayetteville, GA. This role is responsible for supporting the physical infrastructure of a hyperscale data center environment, focusing on Inside Plant (ISP) cabling and hardware support. The ideal candidate has experience with moves, adds, and changes (MACs) and is prepared for a high-utilization project requiring 50-60 hours per week in Fayetteville, GA., * Support and complete all scheduled data center moves, adds, and changes (MACs) for hardware and connectivity.
- Perform hardware installations including device labeling, power connectivity, and network cable routing.
- Execute hardware support work orders involving cabling certification, troubleshooting, and break-fix actions.
- Maintain detailed documentation, asset management audits, and daily work log/ticket tracking.
- Support ISP-focused work including fiber terminations, testing, labeling, and telecommunication room build-outs.
- Ensure a safe and secure operating environment by following site security protocols and reporting violations.
- Provide smart-hands assistance for multiple customers and hardware types within specified SLA response times.
- Perform physical inspections for general data center health, power, and cooling hazards.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Networking equipment (troubleshooting support)?, * Minimum of 2 years of experience in data center operations or a related technical field.
- Must be fluent in English to ensure clear communication and safety compliance on the job site.
- Strong knowledge of ISP (Inside Plant) cabling standards and structured cabling installation.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting server and network hardware components.
- Ability to work a schedule of 50-60 hours per week for the duration of the 4-6 month contract.
- Familiarity with copper and fiber infrastructure installation and testing tools.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to work at heights, off of a ladder, and in confined spaces.
- Must be able to see and distinguish different colors for wiring and cabling identification.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach out for prolonged periods of time.
- Manual dexterity to use hand tools and maneuver materials in tight spaces.
