The Desktop Support Specialist is responsible for being the front-line support for the end users and to ensure their computers are working efficiently with the software needed to complete their job functions. The person must be highly motivated, energetic and a hard-working team player.
Essential Job Functions
- Provide technical leadership in the planning, implementing, and deployment of the desktop environment for optimum IT function. This includes PCs, printers, and telecommunications systems
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve system hardware, software and networking issues
- Maintain technical proficiency on all Raiders end-user computing platforms: personal computers and laptops, Windows 10, MacOS, Microsoft Office, internet applications, accounting applications, CRM, and other customized applications
- Manage escalation of major issues to third party support personnel
- Configure, optimize, and monitor operating systems and software
- Answer and resolve user related IT problems
- New computer builds - Install operating systems and software applications
- Oversee IT hardware inventory and refresh program for corporate desktops and laptops
- Organize and maintain IT area, server room and lab
- Telephone support for remote locations
- Must work well with and take direction from senior systems and network administrators and IT management staff
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements
Do you have experience in Professional ethics?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * High school diploma required
- 2+ years' experience in an Information Technology support position required
- Excellent general computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment
- Ability to work well with all levels of employees in a support and training role
- Ability to effectively diagnose and repair computer hardware and software problems on site and remotely
- Understand computer networking concepts
- Ability to explain basic concepts or procedures in a clear, concise, easy-to-understand manner for a large and diverse customer base which utilizes a wide variety of in-house developed and off-the-shelf applications
- Possess high degree of discretion, integrity, professionalism, and accountability for area of responsibility and related results
- Ability to travel as needed
- Ability to work extended hours and flexible schedule including nights and weekends as needed
