Job description

This position supports the day-to-day operation and long-term improvement of a large-scale JD Edwards EnterpriseOne ERP system for a manufacturing or industrial operation in Florence, Alabama. The role sits within the IT department and reports to the Technical Manager of Software, working alongside a software team and in close coordination with internal business customers and external consulting partners. This is a fully on-site position requiring regular presence in the office.

Schedule Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with additional hours as needed based on project demands. All primary tasks are performed at a desk workstation., The developer in this role provides frontline support for an enterprise-wide JD Edwards EnterpriseOne system, addressing issues as they arise and working with end users to resolve problems in a courteous and timely manner. Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing ERP issues, identifying root causes, and guiding the team toward resolution.

A significant portion of the work involves translating functional specifications from Business Analysts into programmed software solutions. The developer collaborates with the broader Software Team to ensure that deliverables align with business requirements and that solutions are delivered within defined project timeframes. Collaboration extends to external consulting partners, and the developer is expected to manage those relationships on larger-scale projects to ensure adherence to scope and schedule.

The role also includes developing reports using large-scale enterprise reporting tools, recommending system enhancements to maintain a current and effective ERP environment, and creating documentation and training materials for internal customers. The developer is expected to plan, prioritize, and execute assignments independently while maintaining alignment with the IT team's overall direction.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Word embeddings?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * 5 or more years of experience in software development within a large-scale ERP environment

  • Hands-on experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne
  • Demonstrated ability to translate functional specifications into programmed solutions
  • Experience working with IBM DB2 and SQL (Standard Query Language)
  • Ability to diagnose ERP system issues and provide structured guidance on resolution
  • Experience conducting meetings and collaborating with internal business users, IT teams, and external vendors or consultants
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
  • Ability to work on-site full time in Florence, Alabama

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline
  • Experience managing ERP-related projects involving third-party consultants
  • Familiarity with enterprise reporting platforms commonly integrated with JD Edwards
  • Experience developing user-facing documentation and delivering internal training
