Job description

We are looking for experienced Senior Kotlin Engineers to join a high-performing engineering team building a next-generation cloud-native platform within the Capital Markets domain. This platform supports critical front-office business processes and is used by global users operating in a fast-paced, real-time environment.

You will work closely with product, engineering, and platform teams to design, build, and support highly scalable backend services while contributing to a strong engineering culture focused on quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Kotlin
  • Build scalable, resilient, and high-performance cloud-native applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver business-critical features
  • Participate in architecture discussions and technical design decisions
  • Follow engineering best practices including automated testing, code reviews, and continuous integration
  • Support production systems and contribute to platform reliability and operational excellence
  • Drive continuous improvement through refactoring, clean code principles, and technical innovation
  • Work in highly collaborative engineering environments with shared ownership of solutions

Requirements

Do you have experience in SQL?, * Strong commercial experience developing backend applications using Kotlin

  • Solid understanding of object-oriented design and software engineering principles
  • Experience building distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Experience with:
  • Kubernetes (GKE) and/or Cloud Run
  • Cloud SQL
  • Caching technologies
  • Logging and monitoring tools
  • Secure key and secrets management
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern SDLC practices
  • Experience working in enterprise or regulated environments
  • Comfortable supporting production systems with high availability requirements

Preferred Skills

  • Experience within Capital Markets, Investment Banking, Trading, or Financial Services environments
  • Exposure to Agile, Extreme Programming (XP), Test-Driven Development (TDD), and continuous refactoring practices
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and cloud-native deployment models
  • Knowledge of event streaming and messaging platforms
