Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving and well-established Primary Care Network at the heart of one of Bristol's most vibrant communities. Working as part of a highly collaborative team, you will play a central role in supporting the smooth running of the PCN and helping us deliver high-quality services that make a real difference to local people., As a key member of our team, you will work across a diverse portfolio of responsibilities, providing financial and HR administration, coordinating volunteer programmes, and supporting the delivery of projects that improve patient care and reduce health inequalities. No two days are the same, and the role offers the chance to work with a wide range of colleagues, from practice teams and healthcare professionals to volunteers and community partners., The postholder will provide high-quality administrative and operational support across a range of PCN functions, contributing to the effective delivery of services and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the organisation. Financial Administration

  • Support the PCN's financial processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant procedures.
  • Process Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) payments and maintain associated records.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements using QuickBooks.
  • Carry out payroll reconciliations and support the processing of payroll-related transactions.
  • Reconcile HMRC and NHS Pension payments and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial information and reports as required.

HR Administration

  • Support the recruitment and onboarding of ARRS-funded staff.
  • Coordinate new starter processes, ensuring all required documentation and checks are completed.
  • Process and monitor Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) applications.
  • Maintain accurate HR records, including training, annual leave, sickness absence, and mandatory compliance requirements.
  • Support staff wellbeing initiatives and activities across the PCN.
  • Prepare, write, and distribute the PCN newsletter, ensuring timely and engaging communication with staff and stakeholders.
  • Provide general administrative support to HR processes and workforce development activities.

Volunteer Scheme Management

  • Coordinate the induction and onboarding of volunteers joining the scheme.
  • Act as a key point of contact for volunteers, providing information, guidance, and ongoing support.
  • Liaise with the project management team to ensure the effective operation and development of the volunteer programme.
  • Maintain accurate records relating to volunteer activity and participation.

Project and Programme Support

  • Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of vaccination programmes across the PCN.
  • Assist with the implementation and monitoring of projects designed to improve patient services and outcomes.
  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at reducing health inequalities within the local community.
  • Gather and maintain project information, monitor progress, and support reporting requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with practices, healthcare professionals, community partners, and other stakeholders to support programme delivery.

  • Experience of managing multiple tasks and competing priorities effectively.
  • Experience of maintaining accurate records and handling confidential information.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint., * Experience of working within primary care, the NHS, or a healthcare setting.
  • Experience of supporting financial administration, including reconciliations, payroll, or invoicing using QuickBooks or similar financial management software.
  • Experience of supporting HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, and maintaining personnel records., * Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent), including English and Mathematics.
  • Experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders in a professional manner., * Understanding of Primary Care Networks and the wider NHS landscape.
  • Knowledge of ARRS roles and funding arrangements.
  • Understanding of employment-related processes, including DBS checks, absence management, and training compliance.
  • Awareness of health inequalities and the role of community-based services in improving outcomes.
  • Experience of analysing information and producing reports., * A commitment to improving outcomes for patients and local communities.
