Job description

For us, these aren't just words on a piece of paper, they are what we live into as a team and aspire to daily., * Prepare, certify, revise, and maintain SWPPPs in compliance with California CGP requirements.

  • Conduct project risk assessments, pollutant source evaluations, and BMP (Best Management Practice) selection.
  • Develop erosion and sediment control plans for active construction sites.
  • Perform site inspections and sampling per the requirements of the Construction General Permit (CGP).
  • Coordinate stormwater sampling, monitoring, and reporting activities.
  • Upload and manage permit documentation through the SMARTS system.
  • Review project plans, grading plans, and drainage reports for regulatory compliance.
  • Provide recommendations for corrective actions and BMP modifications.
  • Train field personnel and subcontractors on SWPPP implementation requirements.
  • Coordinate with contractors, engineers, regulatory agencies, and project owners.
  • Conduct onsite tailgate SWPPP trainings.
  • Support preparation of Notices of Intent (NOI), Annual Reports, and Notices of Termination (NOTs).
  • Maintain accurate inspection logs, compliance records, and reporting documentation.
  • Project Management responsibilities under direct supervision.

Requirements

Are you imagining an engineering and surveying firm where your skills work in concert with both disciplines and daily conversation is the norm?, * Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering PE or combination of a related bachelor's degree and the following certifications: QSD, CPESC, CPSWQ, CESSWI, CISEC

  • Current California QSD certification
  • 2 years performing erosion and sediment control inspections
  • Experience preparing and implementing Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) for construction projects
  • Valid California driver's license and clean DMV record
  • Ability to work both in the office and in the field, including outdoor conditions and occasional overnight travel

What we would like you to have

  • 2 years performing construction inspections
  • CPESC, CISEC, PE, PG, or related environmental/civil engineering credentials.
  • Experience with municipal stormwater permits (MS4 programs).
  • Knowledge of hydrology, drainage design, and TMDL compliance.
  • Experience using AutoCAD, GIS, or environmental compliance software.

Your Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Knowledge of California Construction General Permit requirements.
  • Understanding of erosion control, sediment control, and stormwater BMPs.
  • Ability to conduct field inspections in varying weather and terrain conditions.
  • Knowledge of stormwater regulations and BMP implementation.
  • Experience with construction site inspections and environmental compliance.
  • Ability to read grading plans, drainage plans, and SWPPP documents.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Organized and efficient, detail oriented; skilled at multi-tasking.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, organization and time management skills.
  • Aptitude for critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making.
  • Ability to make complex computations and to check plans, calculations, and specifications.
  • Ability to assist in the development, implementation and support of all policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, specifically Civil 3D, Blue Beam, and Suite of Microsoft Office Products.
  • Working towards developing skills for project management, leading a team, delegating tasks and managing budgets.
