Job description
Kognitiv Edge is seeking a Data Engineer II to help build and maintain the data infrastructure that powers our human performance platforms. You will work alongside senior engineers, software developers, product leaders, and mission stakeholders to develop scalable data pipelines, integrate diverse data sources, and ensure data is reliable, secure, and accessible., * Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, and data integration solutions.
- Build and support integrations with APIs, databases, wearable technologies, enterprise systems, and third-party platforms.
- Develop processes for ingesting, transforming, validating, and operationalizing structured, semi-structured, and time-series data.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data quality, performance, reliability, and scalability issues across the platform.
- Assist in the design and maintenance of data models, schemas, and storage architectures that support analytics and operational needs.
- Support data governance initiatives, including metadata management, lineage tracking, auditability, and data quality standards.
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability capabilities to ensure platform health and reliability.
- Create and maintain datasets that support reporting, dashboards, analytics, machine learning, and AI initiatives.
- Collaborate with software engineers, product leaders, analysts, and mission stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Contribute to the development of trusted, reusable, and secure enterprise data assets.
- Participate in technical planning, architecture discussions, sprint activities, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Document technical designs, workflows, operational procedures, and engineering best practices.
- Continuously evaluate and improve data platform performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Support Kognitiv Edge's mission of transforming complex human performance data into actionable insight for military and government organizations.
Requirements
Do you have experience in SQL?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, * 3+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, analytics engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.
- Understanding of relational databases and data modeling fundamentals.
- Experience working in cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Azure-native security tooling (e.g., Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy, Key Vault, Sentinel).
- Familiarity with DoD or federal compliance frameworks such as NIST 800-53, RMF, FedRAMP, or DoD STIGs.
- Experience developing data visualizations, dashboards, and reporting solutions using Power BI, Grafana, or similar business intelligence platforms.
- Experience integrating SAST/DAST/SCA tooling (e.g., SonarQube, Snyk, Trivy) into pipelines.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP, Azure Security Engineer Associate, CKS).
- Experience supporting accreditation or Authority to Operate (ATO) processes.
- Familiarity with observability stacks and SIEM tooling., * This is a full time in-office position. Are you able to work in office full time?
