Job description
- Serve as a primary Federal Accounts coordinator for U.S. Government IT and cybersecurity initiatives, supporting clinical and enterprise systems deployed in DoD, VA, and other federal environments with a primary focus on the Varian Business Area.
- Coordinate and support the Authority to Operate (ATO) lifecycle for federal customer deployments, ensuring alignment with agency-specific requirements and Risk Management Framework (RMF) expectations.
- Act as a central point of contact for ATO documentation intake, organization, and sharing, including security white papers, MDS2 forms, FIPS artifacts, encryption attestations, and supporting technical evidence.
- Partner with internal cybersecurity, engineering, factory, and product teams to gather, track, and validate technical inputs required for U.S. Government cyber compliance and authorization activities.
- Support federal opportunity pursuits by advising sales, product management, and bid teams on ATO, cyber, and IT compliance considerations that may impact timelines, deployment models, or customer acceptance.
- Coordinate cross-functional collaboration related to FedRAMP vs. ATO applicability, helping internal teams understand distinctions between cloud authorization and system-level ATO requirements for federal networks.
- Assist with ATO process education and knowledge sharing, responding to internal stakeholder inquiries on ownership, process flow, and required artifacts for federal cybersecurity authorization.
- Support engagement with federal customers, system integrators, and third-party assessors, facilitating communication and document exchange to advance authorization and deployment readiness.
- Maintain organized Teams and SharePoint repositories for ATO and cybersecurity documentation, ensuring secure access and version control across internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to federal IT and cyber discussions related to continuous monitoring, evolving ATO models, and emerging federal cybersecurity requirements, supporting long-term authorization strategy planning.
- Serve as primary lead to support the various Varian Business Area Enterprise Risk Assessment (ERA), MOU-ISAs and support review of U.S. Government IT/Cyber terms and conditions on service contracts.

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
