Job description

50% Content Creation. Writing captions, ghostwriting LinkedIn posts for executives, designing in Canva, editing short form video (Reels, TikToks, Shorts), scheduling in Hootsuite, and making sure everything ships on time and on brand. A lot of this is writing in other people's voices for their professional audiences.

20% Video Collection and Production. Going on site to capture photos and video, planning and running shoots, and turning raw footage into polished short form content. You'll be behind the camera as much as behind the keyboard.

20% Client Communication. Calls, feedback, adjusting when something isn't landing, and building real relationships with the people you create for.

10% Analytics, Reporting, and Growth. Community management, dotting your i's, and time to chase what genuinely interests you in this space. We give you room to get better at your craft.

As we grow, there will be room to take on project management or process work if that's something you want. Getting in early means more room to grow into what's next., * You can shoot video with a phone or a DSLR camera. It doesn't matter which. You know how to frame a shot, get clean audio, and work with the light you've got. Camera ability earns you extra credit in the application process.

  • You can edit short form video. CapCut, Premiere, Canva, whatever your tool is. You turn raw clips into something that performs.
  • You're comfortable on Canva or Adobe for graphic design
  • You've used scheduling tools (Hootsuite preferred, but we'll teach you)
  • You can juggle multiple clients and deadlines without dropping anything
  • You take feedback well. Growth mindset is a core value here, and we mean it.

Ways to stand out:

You can point to short form videos you've made that genuinely performed

  • You own a camera and actually know how to use it
  • You've grown your own social presence to a real following
  • You understand analytics past likes and follows, and can tell me which metrics matter and why
  • You've done executive ghostwriting or LinkedIn thought leadership, or you can show samples that prove you can write in different voices
  • You've managed client relationships directly

What We Offer

Pay: $40,000 to $50,000 a year in your first year based on skill and experience. We're a small Midwest agency, not a VC funded startup. But we're also not the kind of place that makes you wait 18 months and file paperwork for a raise. We reward strong performance quickly, and in a company growing like this one, that matters., You'll work directly with the owners. No layers of management. You report to me (Jeff Pipp).

You'll have real input on client strategy. We don't hand you a calendar and say post this.

We run on EOS, which means clear goals, regular check-ins, and no guessing about where you stand. We're direct and honest with each other, and we expect the same back.

Our core values: Growth Mindset, Respect for Others, Happy Clients, Impact + Value Driven

We're growing on purpose, not by accident. If you're great at this, there's a lot of room to grow with us.

One requirement: We meet in person once a month, and attendance is mandatory. You need to live in Michigan.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Social media post writing?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, Someone ready to grow the business with us, who raises the bar for the whole team. Don't just fill a seat. Make us better.

If you don't have 3+ years of social media experience, your application and video will need to be exceptional for us to take a serious look., We don't need someone perfect. We need someone who's good at what they do, hungry to get better, easy to work with, genuinely cares about making clients happy, and is excited to help build something that's about to get a whole lot bigger.

If that's you, please apply.

Requirements: Valid driver's license | Background check | Hybrid (remote + on-site as needed), * Bachelor's (Preferred)

About the company

Let me tell you where we are right now. We made our last hire six weeks ago. The one before that was three months earlier. The gaps between hires keep getting shorter, and that is on purpose. Bloom Social is growing, and I don't expect it to slow down anytime soon. The next year or two could be the most exciting stretch this agency has had. This is a chance to get in while we're climbing. Joining a small agency while it's growing is a different thing than joining somewhere that's already big and set in its ways. You'll have a real hand in shaping where this goes. It will probably feel fast-paced. It will be a lot of fun. And the people who are here for it are hopefully going to look back on this stretch as something special in their careers. We're a social media agency in Grand Rapids. We work with between 25 and 40 clients at any given time. We run on EOS, we care about people who want to get better at what they do, and we think a social media presence offers true value. One heads up. Every time we post a role like this, we get hundreds of applicants. We expect the same this time. So if you want this, come ready to put your best foot forward, because it's going to be competitive. I promise you it's worth it. What this role is really about We need someone who can do more than write a caption and hit schedule. We need someone who can show up to a client's office or job site with a camera, or even just a phone, capture content that looks good, and turn it into short-form video that stops the scroll. Writing, shooting, editing. If you can do all three, we should talk. Almost half of our work is executive LinkedIn ghostwriting. That means writing thought leadership in someone else's voice, for business owners and executives, in industries you might not know yet. You have to get inside their head and sound like them, not like a social media manager. I won't sugarcoat it. This is hard. But we have a system, we're very good at it, and we will teach you. If that challenge sounds exciting, or you're hungry to learn it, this could be a great fit. If it sounds miserable, this isn't your role. This isn't for you if: * You need someone hovering over your shoulder to stay on track * You post content and never think about it again * You're looking for a placeholder until something shinier comes along * You think your first draft is sacred * Accountability makes you squirm This is for you if: * You've been freelancing and you're ready for the stability of full time work with real benefits * You're worn out from big agency life and want a team that respects your time and your weekends * You can write a sharp LinkedIn post for an executive and then go shoot a Reel for a local builder the same day, switching gears without missing anything * You hear a trending sound and right away think about how to use it for your roofing client * You can frame a good shot even on a phone, in bad lighting, with no setup time * The idea of joining a company while it's growing gets you fired up
