Job description
This position is responsible for managing the team of developers who write reports in MDEC and perform data queries as necessary. Additionally, this position will manage a team of data engineers/architects responsible for the building, maintenance and support of an enterprise data warehouse. The data warehouse will begin with court case record specific data but expand to additional enterprise data sources as the warehouse matures. This position requires a strong blend of technical leadership, architectural ownership and cross-functional coordination., Ensure reports, data warehouse and other data requirements and design are documented. Help to build templates for department use. Create procedures for the reports programmers and data engineers. Ensure that an effective system of controls is built into the business processes.
Support and guide the data architecture and reporting teams in developing and maintaining the data warehouse and case management system custom reports, coordinating closely with the organization?s technical infrastructure team. Assist in ensuring the data warehouse remains high?performing, cost?effective, and responsive to the Judiciary?s evolving requirements.
Participate in data governance activities. This includes being a member of the Data Governance Committee, attending meetings, making recommendations and ensuring the team follows all defined data governance processes.
Allocate resources by directing work assignments to reports team members in adherence with established project deadlines, sprint schedules and/or service level agreements.
Provide input to senior management on resource planning for the team based on staffing levels, priorities and project deadlines. Provide work assignments to staff and monitor through completion.
Provide status reporting both verbally and in writing (narrative and graphical) to groups of varying knowledge levels and at varying degrees of specificity.
Assist in departmental human resource objectives by assisting in recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; enforcing policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Video conferences (communication methods)?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, Bachelor?s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience:
Five (5) years of business system analysis, data engineering, data science, or data architecture. Two (2) years of lead or supervisory experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
SQL, analytical and relational data models.
End-to-end data warehouse solutions.
Data management best practices.
Personal computers.
Microsoft Office suite and general-purpose IT applications such as Adobe/Nitro Pro, SharePoint, and screen capturing software.
Computer software applications and general programming concepts.
Software testing techniques and procedures.
Project management concepts including project planning, stakeholder management, risk analysis, change management and communication.
Data governance, data quality and security best practices.
Judiciary mission, vision and strategic goals.
Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure DevOps, Gitlab, Github, SSMS, SSRS, MSSQL, Microsoft Purview, Power BI, Visual Studio, ER Studio, C++, Oracle RMDBMS.
Software Development Lifecycle Phases and different SDLC methodologies.
Skill in:
Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
Customer Service.
Hands on experience with modern data warehouse platforms.
Supervisory skills and/or the ability to provide direction in a matrix organization to internal and external team members.
Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Python or other scripting languages.
SQL and data modeling (dimensional and relational).

Physical Requirements:
Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Equipment, Machinery and Tools:
General PC equipment included: personal computer, dual monitors, scanner, PC headset. Familiarity with this equipment is required in order to support court users with the software application and to verify testing and configuration results.
