Job description

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm. Role will also include occasional evenings or weekend activities.

Metro connects people, places, and opportunities through quality transit services. This role will be reporting to the Network Security Manager. The Network Security Technician should have outstanding attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and is responsible for maintaining vehicle video systems., * Maintains all vehicle and building security access control and video systems.

  • Analyze and evaluate potential enhancements to security systems.
  • Test new products and designs to determine validity of new security systems enhancements.
  • Plan and install security systems in all new vehicles.
  • Responsible for maintaining an organized inventory of all security equipment parts necessary for maintenance of the building and vehicle security systems.
  • Create and maintain documentation for all vehicle Hard Disk Drives.
  • Responsible for maintaining an organized inventory of all vehicle Hard Disk Drives.
  • Responsible for routine verification of all security systems to ensure functionality and camera angles.
  • Responsible for maintaining building access control databases.
  • Provide assistance and support for network infrastructure and application security on an as needed basis.
  • Provide assistance and support on workstation security software and hardware.
  • Maintain all digital display signs at Transit Centers and BRT Stations.
  • Maintain all digital displays on vehicles and at Metro facilities.
  • Maintain ticket vending and related fare collection devices.
  • Regular and predictable attendance and performance of essential job functions.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of procedures and practices.
  • Supports and promotes the mission, initiatives, and values of Metro.
  • Other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have experience in Physical security system troubleshooting?, * Knowledge of mobile video systems hardware and software.

  • Knowledge of vehicle video system installation methods and best practices.
  • Knowledge of building video and access control hardware and software.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve video and access control system problems in a dynamic environment.
  • High level of attention to detail to ensure proper system installation and setup.
  • Basic knowledge of layer 2 and layer 3 networking.
  • Basic knowledge of data network and workstation security.
  • Ability to work at heights of up to 20' during installations of overhead devices.
  • Basic knowledge of video display systems hardware troubleshooting.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work occasionally after hours with short notice when necessary for installation and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to lift 75lbs for installation of digital signs or other hardware at facilities.
  • Strong decision-making and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office, and related business and communication tools.
  • Fantastic organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to cooperate and develop good working relationships with others.
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check satisfactorily., * Do you currently or have you previously worked at Metro Transit?
