Job Summary: The Field Service Tech role is responsible for helping staff install, repair, and maintain equipment. They are responsible for showing staff how to use their equipment. A few of the main duties of a field service technician are troubleshooting the equipment, advising the staff on how to use the equipment, building relationships with staff, and following company procedures. They also must document their service calls. Additionally, a FST will be responsible for maintaining company systems and monitoring security equipment and software. Travel locally up to 20% and the occasional trip to another region for facility onboarding and support. Being flexible and willing to take on new products and services as needs change.
Essential Functions:
- Use the service ticketing system to manage and document work
o Respond timely to incoming help requests
o Coordinate or requisition new equipment and parts for repairs
o Install/Repair enterprise software on staff equipment, train on use as needed based on help requests
o Install/Repair specialized software on staff equipment, train on use as needed
- Monitor state of company equipment and coordinate for preventative maintenance
o Maintain equipment and parts repositories and keep available inventory up to date.
o Refurbish equipment returns and prepare for redeployment or recycle
o Maintain company facilities at acceptable standards
- Interface with the HD/Network Administrators for support needs outside of the ticketing system
o Monitor security hardware and software and respond to alerts and maintenance items.
o Oversee directory and SaaS platforms for access and compliance.
Requirements
Do you have experience in In-person customer service?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Specialized training/certifications (like A+) preferred
- A technical degree is also preferred
- Experience
- 5 years as a Field Service Tech or a similar role
- Ability to lift up to 55 pounds
- Ability to stand on your feet up to 8 hours a day
- Reliable transportation
- Great communication skills to work with customers
- o Ability to communicate clearly in English
- Amazing problem-solving skills
- Ability to diagnose problems with equipment and software
- Great mechanical aptitude
- Ability to find solutions, and work within budget constraints
