Job description

We are seeking an IT Support Analyst / Deskside Support Technician to provide onsite Tier 2 desktop support at the Commons location, while also assisting remote Training and Demo sites across the country. This role is responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supporting end users, maintaining IT assets, and ensuring the smooth operation of desktop computing environments. The position includes occasional travel to remote locations that do not have dedicated onsite IT support teams.

Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Support

  • Provide Tier 2 deskside support for desktop, laptop, printer, and peripheral-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents and service requests through ServiceNow ticket queues.
  • Perform computer imaging, software installations, hardware replacements, and system configurations.
  • Support remote Training and Demo sites through onsite visits and remote assistance.
  • Follow established knowledge base (KB) articles and documented procedures for issue resolution.

Asset & Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate IT asset records and update inventory systems.
  • Track, deploy, replace, and dispose of IT equipment according to company policies.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate equipment and supply orders.
  • Schedule routine maintenance for IT equipment and peripherals.

Documentation & Communication

  • Create and maintain process documentation, logs, reports, and service records.
  • Update customer information, contact lists, inventory records, and incident reports.
  • Communicate effectively through email and other collaboration tools with internal teams and end users.
  • Escalate issues that fall outside documented procedures to appropriate support teams.

Process & Operational Support

  • Perform standardized operational tasks with consistency and accuracy.
  • Identify process issues and resolve them using established solutions.
  • Support facilities-related technology requests and service activities.
  • Assist with shipping, receiving, and deployment of IT equipment.

Hardware & Printer Support

  • Perform basic printer troubleshooting and maintenance, including toner replacement and pickup roller changes.
  • Diagnose and resolve common hardware and peripheral issues.
  • Provide hands-on support for desktop computing equipment and related technologies., Travel Requirements
  • Up to 25% travel required.
  • Travel includes supporting Training and Demo sites and other remote locations nationwide that do not have dedicated onsite IT support staff.

Work Schedule

  • First Shift (Onsite)
  • Occasional overtime, weekend work, and on-call support may be required, though infrequent.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Productivity software?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * Knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking fundamentals.

  • Understanding of desktop support processes and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, intranet applications, and internet-based tools.
  • Basic understanding of IT security policies and cybersecurity concepts.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow documented procedures and work independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year of IT support, help desk, desktop support, or technical support experience.
  • Experience using ServiceNow or similar IT Service Management (ITSM) tools.
  • Recent graduates with relevant IT education and technical aptitude will be considered.

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; OR

  • High School Diploma/GED with equivalent technical experience., * Desktop Support

  • This is a 100% onsite role in Valley City, ND, working Monday-Friday (8 AM - 5 PM). Are you able to commit to this schedule and location?

  • Do you have a degree in IT (or related field) OR equivalent hands-on experience in IT support?
