Job description
An Associate Software Engineer is responsible for the analysis, design, development, and maintenance of the City's computer programs and systems. The successful candidate collaborates with City staff and senior engineers to identify software needs, integrate third-party applications, and engineer robust solutions for both Windows desktop and web environments. Key responsibilities include providing user training, diagnosing complex technical issues, and continuously evaluating systems to optimize City-wide software utilization and operational efficiency.
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driver's License license?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Proficient in JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, and/or Java, with experience in desktop and web development. Strong understanding of database design (SQL normalization), data processing systems, basic networking, GIS systems, and Intel-based PC architecture.
- Ability to analyze manual processes and design efficient, automated software solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing systems.
- Skilled at consulting with departments, resolving complex technical issues, and maintaining productive relationships with officials and coworkers.
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field (or equivalent experience/education) and a valid Utah Driver's License.
