Job description
As a Senior .NET Developer / Technical Lead, you will:
- Design, develop and maintain enterprise-scale applications.
- Build modern APIs and microservices using .NET technologies.
- Develop high-performance solutions supporting pension administration platforms.
- Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts and technical teams to deliver new functionality.
- Participate in technical design sessions and solution development.
- Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Contribute to system architecture and modernisation initiatives.
- Support continuous improvement of development standards and practices.
Essential Technical Skills
- Strong commercial experience with C#.
- .NET Core / .NET 6+ / .NET 8.
- ASP.NET MVC and Web API development.
- SQL Server and database optimisation.
- Azure cloud services.
- RESTful APIs.
- Git source control.
- Object-oriented design principles.
- Software development lifecycle experience.
Pensions Experience Required
Candidates must have experience working within one or more of the following areas:
- Defined Benefit (DB) Pensions.
- Defined Contribution (DC) Pensions.
- Pension Administration Systems.
- Pension Calculations.
- Pension Payroll.
- Retirement Solutions.
- Pension Member Platforms.
Applications without pensions experience are unlikely to be considered. Desirable Skills
- Azure DevOps.
- CI/CD Pipelines.
- Docker.
- Kubernetes.
- Blazor.
- React or Angular.
- Event-Driven Architecture.
- Microservices Architecture.
Requirements
We are looking for an experienced .NET Technical Lead who remains highly hands-on in development and enjoys solving complex technical challenges. Whilst the role includes technical ownership and mentoring responsibilities, this is primarily a development-focused position for someone who loves building scalable, high-quality software., * 5+ years commercial .NET development experience.
- Experience delivering complex enterprise applications.
- Experience working within Financial Services or Pensions environments.
- Strong understanding of software engineering best practices.
- Ability to work independently and contribute within Agile teams., * Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline.
- Microsoft Certifications desirable.
