This is an exciting opportunity to join Help & Care at a pivotal point in our digital journey.
As our IT Support Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for day-to-day IT support, helping colleagues and volunteers work effectively and confidently.
Providing Level 1 and Level 2 support, you will play a key role in ensuring our systems, equipment and digital tools run smoothly, enabling our teams to deliver meaningful services across Dorset.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line IT support via phone, email and in person.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, printer and connectivity issues.
- Support Microsoft 365, Salesforce and other organisational systems.
- Support and maintain our SharePoint environment, intranet and website platforms.
- Set up laptops, mobile phones and other equipment for staff and volunteers.
- Manage user accounts, access permissions and password resets.
- Maintain IT equipment inventories and support documentation.
- Promote cyber security awareness and support compliance with organisational policies.
- Work with external IT providers to resolve more complex technical issues.
- Contribute ideas and improvements to enhance digital systems and ways of working., * The role is primarily home-based, with travel across Dorset as required.
- Access to your own transport and the ability to travel across the locality is essential.
- Home broadband is required to support hybrid working.
- This role is subject to satisfactory references and DBS clearance.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Technical support?, We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience providing IT support in a helpdesk, customer service or technical support environment.
- Has a good understanding of computer hardware, software and networking.
- Has strong Microsoft 365 skills, including Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Can explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
- Is organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities.
- Is approachable, patient and committed to delivering excellent customer service.
- Shares our values and passion for supporting people and communities.
Experience of SharePoint, Salesforce, hybrid working environments or the charity sector would be advantageous.
