Job description
- Provide onsite and remote help desk support for attorneys and staff (Windows 10/11 PCs, MacBook laptops, printers, scanners, and mobile devices).
- Maintain and troubleshoot office network connectivity, Wi-Fi, basic firewall and router issues, and VPN access.
- Support Microsoft 365 environment, including Outlook, Word, Excel, OneDrive/SharePoint, and Teams; manage user accounts, permissions, and basic security settings.
- Identify and implement practical AI tools (e.g., drafting assistants, document search, and automation) to improve attorney and staff efficiency, including basic setup, training, and troubleshooting for users.
- Assist with case-management, e-filing, and legal software (e.g., Best Case, document management, e-signature platforms) including installs, updates, and basic training.
- Perform routine maintenance such as backups, updates/patching, and antivirus/EDR monitoring; escalate issues to external vendors as needed.
- Document IT procedures and maintain an inventory of hardware, software, and licenses.
- Coordinate with outside IT vendors for projects that exceed in-house scope (server work, advanced networking, security audits, etc.).

- Strong knowledge of Windows desktop administration, Microsoft 365, and basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi).
- Familiarity with remote support tools and ticketing or task-tracking systems.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to provide patient, clear support to non-technical users.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to handle confidential client information with discretion and comply with law firm security protocols.

Schedule and compensation
- Part-time position: approximately 10-30 hours per week, with 1-2 set days onsite in Irvine; some remote work may be possible.
- Occasional availability for urgent support outside regular hours (as needed; e.g., remote log-in for system issues or filing deadlines).
- Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience; please include your desired hourly rate range when applying.
Pay: $32.00 - $40.00 per hour
