Job description
We are seeking an ERP Systems Analyst (Finance) to serve as the bridge between our finance organization and our ERP systems. This role goes beyond report building. The ideal candidate understands the financial logic behind a request, asks the right questions before building, and designs ERP reports and dashboards that actually answer the business question being asked. This is a hybrid role for someone who is equal parts systems-minded and finance-literate: comfortable in the technical architecture of an ERP, and fluent enough in accounting/finance concepts to know why a controller or FP&A lead needs a given output in the first place.
What You'll Do
- Partner directly with Finance, Accounting, and FP&A stakeholders to translate business questions into ERP report and dashboard requirements
- Design, build, and maintain reports within the ERP system (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, or similar), including custom fields, saved searches, workflows, and data visualizations
- Probe beyond the initial ask to understand the underlying financial driver behind a report request (e.g., variance analysis, close-cycle reconciliation, audit support, board reporting) so the output is actually fit for purpose
- Maintain data integrity across financial modules (GL, AP/AR, fixed assets, revenue recognition) to ensure reporting accuracy
- Troubleshoot and resolve ERP system issues affecting financial data, reporting, or integrations
- Manage integrations between the ERP and other financial systems (e.g., bank feeds, payroll, expense management, BI tools)
- Document reporting logic, data definitions, and report specifications so outputs are reproducible and auditable
- Support month-end and year-end close by ensuring reporting infrastructure is accurate and available on time
- Identify opportunities to automate manual finance reporting processes within the ERP
- Train finance team members on self-service reporting tools and dashboards where applicable
Requirements
Do you have experience in Technical report writing?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Strong hands-on experience configuring and reporting within an ERP system (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)
- Working knowledge of core accounting/finance concepts (GL structure, P&L, balance sheet, AP/AR, revenue recognition) sufficient to interpret what a financial stakeholder actually needs
- Ability to translate ambiguous or high-level business requests into precise technical report specifications
- Proficiency in SQL or report-writing tools used to query and structure financial data
- Experience with BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, or native ERP reporting modules)
- Cost accounting experience is a Must. In Manufacturing is a plus!
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to data accuracy
- Excellent communication skills, able to speak both "finance" and "systems" fluently and translate between the two
- Project management skills to manage multiple reporting requests and system initiatives concurrently, * Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, or a related field; equivalent experience considered
- 3-5+ years of experience in an ERP systems analyst, financial systems analyst, or business systems analyst role supporting a finance organization
- Demonstrated experience designing and building reports/dashboards within an ERP platform, not just running canned reports
- Experience working directly with Accounting/FP&A teams to gather requirements and deliver reporting solutions
- ERP certification (NetSuite, SAP, or similar) a plus
- Experience supporting month-end/year-end close processes a plus, * ERP systems: 3 years (Required)
- Financial report design: 4 years (Required)
- Cost accounting: 2 years (Required)
Ability to Commute:
- Cranston, RI 02910 (Required)
