What will you do in this role?
Leads technical projects and supports the planning, research, analysis and testing phases of systems development. Conducts research into leading-edge features and enhancements and makes recommendations to management on strategic technology decisions. You will architect and deliver scalable Oracle APEX solutions, driving the migration of legacy Oracle Forms & Reports to modern, high-performance platforms.
Working across enterprise systems and databases, you will define technical strategy, establish best practices, and ensure secure, robust solutions. In an agile environment, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor developers, and drive continuous improvement in development standards and delivery excellence.
You will own the full software development lifecycle-from requirements and design through deployment and optimization-helping advance our mission of serving science.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Technical architecture?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
Experience requirements:
Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 8+ years').
Experience with hands-on Oracle APEX development experience is required, ideally 5+ years.
Experience PL/SQL and SQL tuning is required.
Experience Oracle Database architecture is required.
Experience working with Oracle Forms & Reports is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience leading large-scale migration or modernization initiatives.
Proven experience in technical leadership or architect roles.
Experience with databases and data modeling (SQL, NoSQL)
Proficiency in API development and integration (REST, SOAP, microservices)
Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control
Expertise in agile development methodologies
Experience with enterprise systems integration
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Experience guiding and supporting other developers
