Job description

The System Administrator (SA) Level 3 provides senior level operational support, troubleshooting, and technical leadership for enterprise IT systems across cloud and on premise environments. This role manages system infrastructure, supports complex integrations, oversees Tier 1/Tier 2 escalations, and ensures the reliability, security, and performance of UNIX, Windows, and cloud based systems., * Support implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of enterprise IT systems

  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution
  • Manage daily configuration, operation, and monitoring of IT systems
  • Assist users with accessing and using systems and applications
  • Resolve issues across client/server, storage, network devices, and mobile devices
  • Escalate and communicate technical status updates to agency leadership
  • Provide support for dispatch systems and hardware problem resolution
  • Optimize system operations, perform capacity planning, and analyze performance
  • Provide detailed analysis and feedback for escalated issues
  • Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems
  • Install OS software, troubleshoot system integrity, and configure network components
  • Implement OS enhancements to improve reliability and performance
  • Support system design and mission architecture as part of enterprise engineering teams
  • Apply working knowledge of system interdependencies within Service Oriented Architectures (SOA)
  • Analyze and resolve complex issues involving server hardware, applications, and software integration

Requirements

  • Experience administering AWS cloud resources, including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, and other core AWS services
  • Expertise with Windows Server 2019/2022, Active Directory, DNS, Certificate Authorities, and Windows 10/11
  • Strong administration experience with Linux distributions (RHEL 8/9, Amazon Linux 2023) within AWS environments
  • Proficiency with automation tools:
  • SaltStack
  • Ansible
  • Bash and Python scripting
  • Ability to build and maintain automation for provisioning, configuration, and deployments
  • Experience deploying and maintaining security related enterprise services:
  • McAfee/Trellix agents & ePO
  • Tenable Nessus agents
  • BigFix
  • Familiarity with tracking and remediating security vulnerabilities across diverse environments
  • Experience supporting robust, production grade cloud environments and on premise servers, * Top Secret/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph - No Exceptions
  • 15 years of System Administration experience supporting programs of similar scope and complexity
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
  • Five (5) additional years of SA experience may substitute for the degree
  • Must have one IAT Level II certification (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP)
