Job description
You begin your morning shaping a customer concept into a clear, buildable design-assembling layouts, models, and a bill of materials in SolidWorks. Midday, you sync with Sales and Project Management to refine scope and cost, then hop on a site call to validate installation constraints. In the afternoon, you review manufacturability with Fabrication and Production, making smart trade-offs to keep safety, quality, and cost in balance. You wrap up by updating drawings, logging revisions, and communicating impacts so the team is ready for fabrication, installation, and startup., * System & Mechanical Design: Produce detailed designs for industrial equipment and related processes; generate drawings, assemblies, layouts, specifications, and BOMs. Ensure compliance with company standards, relevant codes, and safety rules. Engineer solutions that are manufacturable, serviceable, and cost-conscious.
- Front-End Support for Sales: Contribute technical insight to proposals; develop conceptual layouts, budgetary designs, and scope definitions; provide technical clarifications. Join customer meetings, site visits, and reviews when needed.
- Cross-Functional Execution: Partner with Project Management and Scheduling to move work seamlessly from design to fabrication, installation, commissioning, and startup. Work closely with manufacturing/production to confirm designs are practical. Offer technical assistance during installation, startup, and troubleshooting.
- Documentation & Change Control: Maintain accurate documentation and revision history. Assess design changes for cost, schedule, and technical effects. Share updates promptly with stakeholders.
- Technical Support & Improvement: Assist with troubleshooting and root-cause analysis on project and field issues. Identify opportunities for standardization, design optimization, and operational efficiency; circulate lessons learned across teams.
- Safety, Quality & Compliance: Champion safe engineering practices. Align designs with applicable regulations, standards, and internal quality requirements.
