Job description
As a Systems & Markets Analyst, you are responsible for analysing and improving market monitoring processes within the Market Monitoring for Surveillance (MMS) team, so that the Netherlands can continue to rely on reliable, affordable and sustainable energy.
- You analyse market data and alerts on a daily basis and carry out follow-up investigations, so that potential forms of market abuse are identified and assessed in time.
- You develop and perform follow-up investigations in collaboration with the market surveillance officer and data scientist, so that findings lead to well-founded decisions and targeted actions.
- You improve and develop processes and control mechanisms for market monitoring, so that they keep pace with the increasing complexity of the electricity market.
- You align with team members and other experts on findings and market developments, so that insights are enriched and effectively applied.
- You ensure and update process descriptions of control mechanisms, so that consistency, transparency and quality of monitoring are safeguarded., Operate is responsible for the end-to-end operation of the Dutch electricity grid and ensures security of supply, system stability, and market facilitation in the Netherlands and across Europe. Operate makes sure the lights stay on 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Requirements
Do you have experience in System security?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * A completed university degree or demonstrable academic working and thinking level, preferably in a technical or quantitative field such as energy technology, data science, computer science or econometrics
- Experience with data analysis, preferably using Python and SQL
- Experience with data visualisation and building dashboards, for example with Power BI
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Databricks is a plus
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand complex issues and translate them into actionable insights
- Affinity with the electricity market and understanding of market processes
- Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in Dutch or willingness to learn Dutch is required
