Job description
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and CICS to join our team in Raleigh. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining mission-critical mainframe applications in a high-performance environment., * Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL
- Work with DB2 databases for data design, querying, and optimization
- Develop and maintain batch processes using JCL
- Build and support online transactions using CICS
- Handle VSAM file processing and data management
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Perform code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning
- Provide production support and troubleshoot issues in a timely manner
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, BA, and infrastructure teams
Requirements
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in:
- COBOL programming (both batch and online)
- JCL (Job Control Language)
- DB2 database development and SQL
- CICS transaction processing
- VSAM file handling
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Experience in application maintenance, enhancements, and production support
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
- Excellent communication skills
