Job description
We are searching for a full-time, in-office VP, IT Systems & Data in our Amarillo, Texas location. This position is responsible for leading the Association's internal technology operations, end-user support, and business application improvements. This role oversees a small IT team, manages core technology resources and vendors, and ensures technology services support business needs efficiently and securely. This position focuses on day-to-day IT leadership, system reliability, process improvement, reporting tools, and the practical use of automation and data solutions to enhance operations.
Day-to Day-Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a small IT team, setting priorities and maintaining accountability for results while fostering a collaborative, service-oriented approach.
- Partner with senior management to establish IT priorities and manage budgets and expenses.
- Evaluate and implement technology solutions aligned with business and operational needs.
- Manage vendors and service providers supporting infrastructure, devices, and related systems.
- Identify and implement process improvements and workflow automation to enhance operational efficiency.
- Support reporting and analytics capabilities to enable data-informed decision-making.
- Translate business needs into practical technology solutions and priorities.
- Evaluate emerging technology, including AI-enabled tools, for practical business application.
- Maintain IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure operational consistency, security, and compliance.
- Provide guidance and training on technology tools, cybersecurity awareness, and related practices.
- Oversee technical support for business applications, devices, and user issues.
- Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning activities.
- Perform essential security and compliance responsibilities, including:
- Protect data, applications, and infrastructure from unauthorized access or use.
- Report security or compliance concerns to senior management promptly.
- Complete required security and compliance training.
- Adhere to applicable technology, security, and control standards and procedures.
- Carry out assigned compliance responsibilities and coordinate with compliance as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Eight (8) or more years of progressive IT experience, including management responsibility.
- Experience leading business technology solutions, reporting platforms, and process automation initiatives.
- Financial services or banking experience preferred.
- Familiarity with IT governance, policy administration, and information security practices preferred.
General knowledge of the following:
- General knowledge of business systems software applications.
- Specialized knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, networking, and security.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information to non-technical audiences.
- Working knowledge of IT operations, end-user support, infrastructure, and cybersecurity fundamentals.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, including analysis, research and solution development.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft operating, networking, and Microsoft Office applications.
