Job description
SimIS, Inc. seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to lead systems engineering activities for a U.S. Navy Training Command. This position provides technical leadership for complex simulation and training systems including requirements analysis, system integration, verification and validation, and technical oversight of engineering teams supporting shore-based training systems.
The candidate performs the following specific assignments:

Provide leadership and guidance using experience gained from in depth AEGIS Combat System engineering including SPY Radar, Command & Decision, and Weapons Control Systems

Lead systems engineering lifecycle activities from requirements through deployment

Experience with Distributed Interface System (DIS) and High-Level Architecture (HLA) compliant systems
-
Apply knowledge of simulation systems including NGS, OASIS, JSAF, and tactical training environments

Deliver expertise in developing and reviewing system requirements, specifications, and technical documentation

Manage multi-site operations with distributed teams across multiple geographic locations
-
Manage contract performance management, cost control, and schedule adherence
-
Serve as POC with government Contracting Officers, CORs, and senior military leadership

Use experience gained to manage complex technical programs involving simulation systems and training environments

Use experience with risk management, quality assurance, and vendor management activities to meet all deliverables, timelines, expectations.
Requirements

Eight (8) years of systems engineering experience with three (3) years in leadership roles
-
Mandatory : Must meet DOD 8570 requirements for Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II

Experience with AEGIS Combat System engineering including SPY Radar, Command & Decision, and Weapons Control Systems

Demonstrated ability to lead systems engineering lifecycle activities from requirements through deployment

Experience with Distributed Interface System (DIS) and High Level Architecture (HLA) compliant systems

Knowledge of simulation systems including NGS, OASIS, JSAF, and tactical training environments

Experience developing and reviewing system requirements, specifications, and technical documentation
-
Strong leadership and communication skills with ability to interface at executive levels

Knowledge of Navy tactical systems and combat information center operations

SECRET clearance
Experience Desired:

Preferred: Master's degree in Systems Engineering

Professional Engineering License

Experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira)

Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams

Experience with government reporting requirements and CDRL deliverables

Experience with DoD acquisition processes
Special Skills/Knowledge/Training Required/Desired:

Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP)

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Experience with NSWCDD or Navy programs
