The Sr Embedded Software Engineer - Radar & DSP will play a key role in developing advanced RF sensing capabilities for Mach's autonomous defense platforms. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing radar software across the full development lifecycle; from algorithm prototyping to embedded deployment. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure high-performance, low-latency radar systems that meet mission-critical requirements. Success in this role requires strong technical execution, adaptability, and a hands-on approach in a fast-paced, iterative environment., * Develop, test, and implement radar software for RF sensing technologies ensuring high performance and reliability.
- Build next generation counter UAV systems through hands on application of radar defense systems to defend human lives, critical infrastructure, and high value assets for the United States and its allies
- Design and implement efficient, well-tested code in C++, Python or C.
- Work closely with other engineers to ensure seamless hardware-software integration.
- Develop and maintain signal processing algorithms tailored for RF sensing systems, ensuring real-time performance and low-latency responses in dynamic environments.
- Actively participate in agile workflows, providing clear visibility into technical risks, development blockers, and engineering trade-offs to support informed decision-making across the team.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and refine complex software systems, with a focus on maintaining the performance, stability, and robustness required for mission-critical reliability requirements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering or RF/radar engineering.
- Proficiency in C++, Python, or C with the ability to write clean, well-tested, and efficient code.
- Ability to execute and thrive in a fast-paced, high-iteration environment, delivering frequent software updates with speed and precision.
- Strong grasp of full software development life cycle, including design, development, deployment, and support.
- Able to work on-site in Huntington Beach, CA., * Hands-on experience with machine learning, including model development, evaluation, and deployment in real-world environments.
- Background in either Radar or Wireless Communications L1/PHY/RF.
- Experience with multi-core/multi-processor development.
- Experience with fixed or floating point math and implementing FFTs and filters.
- Strong foundation in supervised and unsupervised learning techniques, with practical applications in clustering, classification, and anomaly detection for signal processing.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute advancements to projects both as part of a team and individually, with experience making solo contributions to radar software projects.
- Skilled in performance optimization, real-time constraints, and hardware-software co-design, ensuring scalable and efficient implementation on embedded platforms.
- Leadership experience in technical teams, driving development of high-performance radar solutions for defense applications with mission-critical reliability requirements.
