Job description
Working within the Marketing team, the Ticketing Assistant will assist with the efficient and effective processing of the Festival's ticketing, managing stakeholder allocations (press, filmmakers, guests and other stakeholders). The role will also work with the Guest Services team and Events team to ensure smooth management of filmmaker ticket requests and coordination of guest ticketing for Opening and Closing Galas.
The Ticketing Assistant sits within the Marketing team, including Marketing Coordinator, Designer, Digital Campaigns Coordinator, Ticketing Coordinator, Picture Editor and Video/Photography team. The role will also collaborate closely with 180 Box Office and Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society's team to use Red61 as our primary ticketing system., * Assist the Ticketing Coordinator to manage stakeholder ticket allocations (press, filmmakers, guests, sponsors and other stakeholders) for all Festival events, liaising with key EIFF personnel, including Guest Services team, Industry team, Development team and Press team, to ensure a wide range of stakeholders' ticket requirements are fulfilled.
- Support the Ticketing Coordinator to ensure smooth management of guest ticketing for Opening and Closing Galas.
- Coordinate any staff ticket requests as requested by the Marketing Manager or EIFF Executive team.
- Support EIFF Venue Coordinators, Box Office and Front of House teams on the ground, as required.
- Attend meetings and briefings in the lead up to, and during, the Festival, providing input where relevant.
General
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and departments across the Festival to share information, achieve deadlines and promote a positive working environment.
- Attend meetings and provide progress and financial reports as required.
- On completion of the contract, complete any reports as required.
- Always act in accordance with EIFF policies and procedures.
- Carry out other duties as reasonably requested by your line manager.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Organizational skills?, * Experience of working in a ticketing or Box Office environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and highly responsive environment
- Experience of managing a wide variety of stakeholder needs
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Assisting in the management of a project or activity
- Good knowledge of standard (Microsoft Office, etc) and ticketing software
- Excellent IT skills, including email and databases
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise a sizeable workload
- Excellent communication and customer care skills
- Excellent English, written and verbal communication
- Team working and ability to motivate others
- Right to work in the United Kingdom or be able to obtain such
Desirable
- Experience of working in a film, arts or event related environment
- Knowledge of Data Protection
Benefits & conditions
Working days: 5 days a week by agreement within standard office hours of 9.30 to 17:30, Monday to Friday. At peak times, and particularly immediately before and during EIFF, it will be necessary to work outside standard hours and at weekends. Payment of overtime is not applicable to this post.
Contract type: Fixed term contract. 4-20 August 2026
Salary: £26,134 pro rata
Holiday entitlement: 25 days per annum plus public holidays, pro rata plus 10 public holiday of which 5 are fixed and 5 are floating days
Working arrangements: Based at EIFF offices in Techcube in Summerhall. Hybrid working arrangements can potentially be discussed and agreed.
Pension Scheme: EIFF will comply with the employer pension duties in accordance with Part 1 of the Pension Act 2008, as amended or replaced from time to time
Right to Work: The successful applicant will be required to provide documentation under the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006
