The successful candidate's responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Make sure operating systems and software are regularly updated with security patches.
- Verify that antivirus or endpoint protection software is installed and working.
- Ensure firewalls are enabled and properly configured on all devices.
- Organize regular security checks and compliance reviews against Cyber Essentials requirements.
- Work with IT team or suppliers to fix security issues and vulnerabilities.
- Maintain records and evidence needed for Cyber Essentials certification and audits.
- Support staff with basic cyber security guidance and awareness.
- Coordinate the secure setup of new computers and the secure disposal of old equipment.
- Act as the main point of contact for Cyber Essentials PC-related activities and certification assessments
- Act as the first point of contact for IT support requests from end users.
- Provide first-line troubleshooting and resolve common hardware, software, and account issues.
- Track and analyse break-fix ticket statistics, trends, and recurring issues.
- Produce reports and metrics for presentations and management reviews.
- Assist with user onboarding, account setup, and basic IT training where required.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Technical support?, * First-line IT support, incident management, and break-fix troubleshooting.
- Experience of Ticket triage, prioritisation, and escalation.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience of documentation management
- Experience of reporting and analysis of support metrics, trends, and break-fix statistics.
- Awareness of Cyber Essentials-aligned PC management, including patching, endpoint security, and asset management
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within technical support teams
- Experience of project-based deployment and support environments
- Proactive, organised, and diligent approach to service delivery and continuous improvement
- Experience of Laptop and desktop installation, configuration, and support
- Experience of Hardware diagnostics, repair, and fault resolution
- Experience of Printer, peripheral, and network device support
