The successful candidate's responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Make sure operating systems and software are regularly updated with security patches.
  • Verify that antivirus or endpoint protection software is installed and working.
  • Ensure firewalls are enabled and properly configured on all devices.
  • Organize regular security checks and compliance reviews against Cyber Essentials requirements.
  • Work with IT team or suppliers to fix security issues and vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain records and evidence needed for Cyber Essentials certification and audits.
  • Support staff with basic cyber security guidance and awareness.
  • Coordinate the secure setup of new computers and the secure disposal of old equipment.
  • Act as the main point of contact for Cyber Essentials PC-related activities and certification assessments
  • Act as the first point of contact for IT support requests from end users.
  • Provide first-line troubleshooting and resolve common hardware, software, and account issues.
  • Track and analyse break-fix ticket statistics, trends, and recurring issues.
  • Produce reports and metrics for presentations and management reviews.
  • Assist with user onboarding, account setup, and basic IT training where required.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Technical support?, * First-line IT support, incident management, and break-fix troubleshooting.

  • Experience of Ticket triage, prioritisation, and escalation.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience of documentation management
  • Experience of reporting and analysis of support metrics, trends, and break-fix statistics.
  • Awareness of Cyber Essentials-aligned PC management, including patching, endpoint security, and asset management
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within technical support teams
  • Experience of project-based deployment and support environments
  • Proactive, organised, and diligent approach to service delivery and continuous improvement
  • Experience of Laptop and desktop installation, configuration, and support
  • Experience of Hardware diagnostics, repair, and fault resolution
  • Experience of Printer, peripheral, and network device support
