Job description

The Testing and Applications Engineer II is responsible for project planning and timeliness of product testing including engineering analysis, documentation, and report writing. They are developing a strong understanding of testing and support additional activities within the lab. Individuals in this role need minimal guidance from Sr. Engineers and Management to perform daily activities.

  1. Work with test lab technicians to plan, set-up and implement testing benchmark evaluation of competitive or proposed new products as well as ongoing product improvements utilizing proposed processes or material changes.
  2. Accurately record test results of numerical and observed data and detect data anomalies. Review data from technicians for accuracy and correctness.
  3. Write moderately complex technical reports as directed to document engineering analysis and findings.
  4. Adhere to ISO 17025 standard guidelines and maintain required lab documentation as assigned.
  5. With minimal guidance from management and Sr. Test Engineers, prioritize work to align with the goals of the department and various project teams. Participate in team level work prioritization activities.
  6. Participate, provide support, and develop new test fixtures, test methods, and continuous improvement projects as assigned.
  7. Design test fixtures and coordinate their manufacturing including drawings and specifications. Detect and report equipment concerns and support maintenance where assigned.
  8. Lead assigned projects working with associated engineering teams to maintain project timelines while adhering to quality standards.
  9. Participate in continuous improvement activities to achieve quality goals.
  10. Maintain close contact with associated engineering groups and project teams as well as develop third party relationships to create alignment with company quality standards.

Requirements

Bachelors Degree preferred with 3-5 years of relevant work experience. Must have demonstrated experience and knowledge of PCB/PCBA and IPC 610, or Mechanical or Electrical Engineering fundamentals and principles. Must possess strong technical and analytical skills. Must possess planning and organizational skills. Demonstrated oral and written communication with ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word), analysis and design software. Ability to facilitate projects and solutions.
