Job description
We are seeking an enthusiastic Design Release Engineer (DRE) to support the development, validation, and release of seat heating and ventilation systems for automotive vehicle programs. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career engineers interested in seating systems, thermal comfort technologies, and automotive product development.
The selected candidate will work closely with senior engineers, suppliers, validation teams, and vehicle integration groups to support seat heat and ventilation component development from concept through launch., * Support the design, development, and release of seat heating and ventilation components, including heater mats, blowers, ducts, foam interfaces, harnesses, and related hardware.
- Assist in maintaining engineering documentation, drawings, BOMs, specifications, and release records.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal engineering teams to support component development and issue resolution.
- Participate in design reviews and support engineering change management activities.
- Assist with validation planning and testing activities, including thermal performance, durability, and environmental testing.
- Analyze test results and support root cause investigations for design, quality, and performance concerns.
- Support prototype builds, vehicle integration activities, and launch events.
- Work with cross-functional teams including Seating, Electrical, HVAC, Validation, Manufacturing, and Quality organizations.
- Track engineering deliverables, open issues, and program milestones.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, cost, and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Engineering product development?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree in engineering?, * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 0-3 years of engineering experience (internships and co-op experience are highly valued).
- Basic understanding of automotive product development processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment., * Internship or project experience related to automotive systems, seating systems, HVAC, thermal systems, or vehicle interiors.
- Familiarity with engineering fundamentals such as heat transfer, thermodynamics, or fluid flow.
- Exposure to CAD software such as CATIA, NX, Creo, or SolidWorks.
- Understanding of automotive validation processes, DFMEA, and DVP&R concepts.
- Familiarity with vehicle electrical systems and communication networks is a plus.
