Job description
- Develop and maintain foundational components of our "Shelf" platform, an internal system that manages all aspects of warehouse inventory and fulfillment.
- Work with a team of front end and back end engineers and operational leaders to understand and build solutions for new projects.
- Dedicate time to "hardening" the software, proactively fixing root causes of recurring issues during your on-call rotation.
- Tackle a wide range of backend challenges to maintain and improve the system's scalability and stability., * You are seen and trusted as a technical expert at Pattern, driving new solutions and efficiencies through innovative software development.
- Your work doesn't stop at code delivery; you consider the entire product lifecycle and collaborate across functions to ensure maximum value.
- You care about code quality and collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure our solutions resonate with business needs.
- All solutions have been tested and proven for impact and cost optimization.
- You are effective at working independently and also willing to learn from other engineers.
What is the team like?
- You will work under the supervision of a Principal Software Engineer, collaborating with a team of front-end and back-end engineers based in the US. The team follows a hybrid work schedule; Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the office, and work from home on Tuesday and Friday.

Requirements
- 3+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in a modern backend language like Ruby, Node.js, Java, Python, or Go.
- SQL expertise is a must, with experience in databases like PostgreSQL.
- Experience working in AWS.
- Knowledge of Ruby on Rails is a plus but not required.
- A go-getter attitude with a passion for learning and taking on new challenges.
- Proven ability to lead projects and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder relationships., * Showcase a proven track record in software engineering and back-end development.
