Director, Software Engineering

• Take system and software requirements and develop estimates and schedules to implement the requirements
• Define or update development procedures to achieve development schedules and systems with high quality
• Drive the architecture, design, and coordination of software development activities on a centralized traffic signal management system
• Guide the development staff to meet set deadlines.
• Track and report quality and schedule adherence to upper management.
• Support a strong collaborative, engaged, and energetic culture

The successful candidate must have 8-10 years of commercial software development experience and domain knowledge in traffic control systems, including knowledge of NTCIP. In addition to the development experience, the candidate must have 3+ years in a managerial or leadership role, supervising software engineering staff., * Bachelor's or master's degree in software engineering, Computer Science, or Traffic Engineering. An engineering degree in a related field may be considered.

• Knowledge of traffic signal controllers and related standards such as NTCIP
• Experience developing or leading the development of a traffic signal controller or central traffic signal management system product
• Knowledge of networking, security, and software engineering best practices

Desired Skills and Knowledge:

• Application development experience with Java is a plus
• Knowledge in SOAP, XML, JSON, Web Sockets, RESTful services, or similar a plus
• Knowledge of native cloud technologies is a plus
