Job description
The Systems Administrator is responsible for the deployment, patching, maintenance, and operational support of Windows server infrastructure and the applications that run on it. This role has direct ownership of assigned systems and is accountable for maintaining system health, reliability, and security. The position requires a strong Windows administration background, the ability to work independently with a high level of accountability, and the ability to collaborate effectively across a team environment. Understanding of networking principles is required, with prior network administration experience preferred. Linux administration experience is a plus., + Own and administer assigned Windows server infrastructure, including deployment, patching, maintenance, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management

Install, configure, support, and maintain both third-party software and internally developed applications hosted on supported systems

Partner with infrastructure, security, application, and support teams to coordinate system changes, application updates, issue resolution, and ongoing operational improvements

Maintain documentation for systems, applications, configurations, support procedures, and recovery processes while ensuring compliance with operational and security standards

Support incident response, change management, maintenance activities, and after-hours work as needed to maintain system availability and reliability
Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field and minimum of 2 years of listed experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience.

Experience administering Windows Server environments in an enterprise setting

Hands-on experience with server patching, deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting

Experience installing, upgrading, and supporting third-party applications and business applications in a server environment

Experience supporting or maintaining internally developed applications in partnership with application owners or development teams

Working knowledge of core networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, and connectivity troubleshooting
Preferred Qualifications

Previous network administration experience

Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP

Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V

Familiarity with PowerShell or other automation tools

Linux administration experience

AWS cloud experience

Experience working in regulated or controlled IT environments

Demonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership of systems, and deliver results with strong accountability

Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$74,400.00 - $111,600.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
