Job description
- Deliver on-site Tier 1 / Tier 2 technical support with a focus on hardware, networking, and infrastructure
- Install, configure, and maintain network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless infrastructure)
- Perform on-site troubleshooting of network connectivity, performance, and infrastructure issues
- Execute infrastructure deployments, including:
- Network builds and expansions
- Structured cabling and patching
- Equipment rack/stack and provisioning
- Support industrial and remote site connectivity, including satellite and ruggedized network solutions
- Provide desktop and end-user support when on-site (devices, telephony, collaboration tools)
- Coordinate with centralized support teams for escalation and follow-up
- Contribute to IT project delivery, including site rollouts, upgrades, and migrations
- Maintain accurate documentation of site configurations, diagrams, and procedures
- Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and change management processes
- Provide basic user guidance and training during site visits
Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years in an IT support role
- Basic O365 Administration experience
- Hands-on experience with networking fundamentals (IP addressing, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, Wi-Fi) and network hardware configuration and troubleshooting
- Experience with physical IT infrastructure (cabling, patch panels, racks, hardware installs)
- Familiarity with remote and industrial environments (low-bandwidth, high-latency, rugged conditions)
- Ability to work independently in field environments with minimal supervision
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in live environments
- Clear communication skills when working directly with clients on-site
- Comfortable with travel and dynamic work environments
- Valid driver s license and ability to travel to remote locations
Additional Assets
- Related field experience (mining, industrial, manufacturing)
- Bachelor s degree or certificate/diploma in a related field
- Technology certifications (Cisco, Microsoft, Fortinet, ITIL, A+, etc.)
- Experience with OT networks and industrial systems
- Experience with Satellite or remote communications
- On-prem infrastructure (Active Directory, file services, backup systems)
- Experience with at least one of either Fortinet or Cisco network equipment (bare metal configuration, cloud management, VLAN/port assignment, etc.)
- Experience working in ITIL and regulatory compliant environments
